How do I direct mount Lewis winch to chainsaw?

Take  the adaptor kit ( in plastic jar) and find adaptor that fits your saw. The thicker adaptor with countersunk holes will fit the winch. Now bolt the 2 adaptors together with the 3 bolts provided. ( use some lock tight) The studs on your saw will fit in the slot of the winch casting. Adjust your chain tensioner so the lip will fit in the smaller slot of the casting. Line the adaptors up on your saw and install the 2 nuts. Do not use your oilier on the saw.
How do I mount winch on chainsaw with the mounting bar? Take the short mounting bar and bolt it to the yoke on the winch ( bolts supplied). Attach this to your saw like you would your cutter bar. Slide the rim sprocket (supplied) on to the spline of the winch. (input shaft) Figure the length you need of the cutter less chain and rivet it together with the master link. Set the tension of the chain as you do with cutter bar.
Is the snatch block strong enough? Yes, if you pull 8000 lb, using our snatch block, only a fraction of that will be the load on the snatch block
I am a small person, and  weigh about 150 lb, can I safely handle the winch? Yes, no matter how tall or heavy a person is, you should never operate chainsaw with winch without anchoring it to tree heavy boulder etc.    See our safety page.
